In partnership with Tycho Brahe Planetarium in
Copenhagen (
www.tycho.dk), 7thSense
and
Steen Iversen (Sirius3D -
www.sirius3d.com)
have
engineered a patent pending technical architecture
utilising two Christie Digital Cinema projectors on
a 23m-diameter dome screen.
Integrating a DCI compliant playback server with
7thSense's Delta media server (
www.7thsense.co.uk),
Intensity3D overlays one projector over the other in
a geometrically correct, extremely bright image that
is 24m wide. This allows content producers to show their
3D and 2D imagery to best effect, and takes the
end-customer experience to a completely new level.
Using a patent pending real-time image mixing
algorithm, Intensity3D satisfies the content
producer's requirement for encrypted content and
DCI compliant playback, while at the same time
utilising the extreme brightness of two projectors to
create a larger, brighter and higher resolution image
than was previously possible.
The resultant picture is larger, brighter and sharper
than Tycho Brahe's previous projection system,
making it one of the best large format projected
images in a dome in Europe. Further, the system is
inherently redundant, having two stacked images so
that 3D can still be obtained even if one player or
one projector fails.
